The American Apostolic Old Catholic Church

Who can come to the AAOCC?

We welcome…old people and young people. Retired people and unhired people. The out of work and the out of mind. The homeless, the shoeless, the wealthy, the clueless. Those who pay cash and those who play cards. Those who are strapped, those who break even. The classy, the classless, the classic, the classist. The empty of pocket, the empty of heart. The broken, the bitter, the everyday sinner.

We welcome…the straight and the gay. The bi, queer, transgender, CIS, binary, plus. The married, divorced, remarried, or single. The widowed, the widower, the seeking, the mingler. The one who has given up on romantic engagement. Those seeking to marry, those seeking to split. The mother of many, the family of two. Single mother or father, single grandparent-parent.

We welcome…the red and the blue, the purple and white. The black, brown, tan, yellow, red, peach—dark or bright. Those who speak English and those who speak Spanish. Those who speak constantly, the shy or embarrassed. The blue-hearted liberal; the red-tied conservative. The black coffee, tea, latte, goat-milked chai smoothy. The tree-hugger; protester; or sign-waving activist. The non-voting homebody. The crowd-hating bystander.
We welcome…the foreigner. Immigrant. Refugee. Stranger. The First-Nations native. Or European long-timer. Ellis Island descendant. The great-great grandfather. The loud, wailing infant. The squirming, crying toddler. The quietly reading. Those paying attention. Those simply day-dreaming. The volunteering dynamo. The contemplative pew-sitter. The always-involved. The gossip. The singer. The mass-jumping, out the door rushing Catholic. The quiet, back-row-sitting, chest beating sinner.

We welcome…all people. All nations. All tongues. All colors. All creeds. All politics. Or none. Your past doesn’t matter. ALL sins are forgivable. It’s God who beckons you. We are only His ushers. The church is HIS house, and no one is barred. Come, enter His peace. Rest in His heart.
